My name is Sander Claassen, founder of ClaassenConnect. As an experienced specialist in governance, leadership and strategy, I am passionately and convincingly committed to sustainable social change.
My professional journey began in sports and education, where I discovered how crucial structure, collaboration and continuous knowledge development are for growth and success.
I took these insights with me to the public sector, where I was active as a municipal councillor, member of the States and party leader of D66 in Groningen. Here I learned how to make a real impact on social issues through leadership and strategic insight, with special attention to sustainability, equal opportunities and social entrepreneurship.
With my mixed Frisian and Indo-Dutch background, I have a unique multicultural perspective. A life-changing trip to Indonesia made me discover the value of subtle power and connection. This inspired me to found ClaassenConnect, with which I support organizations—ranging from companies and governments to knowledge institutions—in developing strong governance structures and future-oriented leadership strategies.
My mission is clear: connecting people and organizations to effectively tackle complex challenges, with special attention to education, health and public entrepreneurship. Together we build a resilient and sustainable future.

In recent years, I have worked independently on a variety of assignments, including acting Director of Operations, interim manager, strategic advisor, and process supervisor at educational and government organizations.
Before that, I held various management and consultancy roles in the financial and public sectors. This broad background allows me to move effortlessly between management, executive management, and implementation, bridging the gap between strategy and practice.
My strength lies in developing a clear strategy, translating it to all levels of the organization, and working together towards concrete results, with calm and structure as a foundation. I believe that true impact is created where vision and execution intersect, and where professionals feel heard and seen.
